Author's Brief:
This is where it all began and still continues; Earth Dimension 1. It did start out as a world based on Marvel but things began, grew and took on a life of their own turning. What started out nearly five years ago as a few characters and a few mini stories has grown into one mega saga that is slowly coming to a close. From one simple character named Black Star, grew an entire civilization replete with history, people and cosmic beings.
Oh, I guess I should tell you that this game is based on my real life gaming group which plays every other Saturday. It has been one hell of a ride to date, with twists and turns, ups and downs, laughs and hoots to say the least and if all goes well, I'll be ending it with the "WHAT? NO WAY! WHAT THE HELL?" ending. Player's have come a long way.
Anywho, what is currently going on is a whole world of chaos and mess. The earth is slowly dying due to Crucifix's last spiteful strike before he was defeated to end the first Dark War bringing to a close just over 120 years of occupation, slavery and despotism by Crucifix and his forces across the universe, a time which is now known as the Dark Times. The victory had been costly to all who came and fought for the earth and her people, the death toll massing into the tens of thousands of both earth and alien forces along with many dozens of meta beings from both here, other galaxies and dimensions. The finale tally of Crucifix's reign; hundreds of worlds lifeless or completely destroyed and a body count registering into the dozens of billions.
The Earth is but a former shadow of itself but through all the destruction,hope had remained strong, even now, knowing that their world is poisoned and dying. The population of this planet had once been just over six and a half billion people but with all that Crucifix had done, the evil he had brought upon this world and its people, just over two billion souls now remain. There were other gifts which Crucifix had left behind. Gifts such as the darkness which now occupies a majority of the empty cities around the world, things, creatures, monsters of unknown origin or purpose living within causing each city to have a threat level rating attached to it. Most of the level 10's are located within North America, the place where Crucifix's war began which left this side of the Earth mostly uninhabitable. Very little is known about the denizens which now call these hot zones home as any attempts at exploration have resulted in recon teams never coming back. All anyone knows is that there is a different world within and even during the brightest of days, a dark ominous evil refuses to allow the sunlight to permeate the darkness within.
The other gift, was a promise, a promise made by Crucifix before he passed on, a promise to bring low, to turn to darkness the very person who personified love and hope. With his last breath, he swore that he would one day turn G Siphon to hate and darkness and cast a shadow of hopelessness across the universe. As with most things, the warning was soon forgotten, becoming a distant thought which, like the Dark War, had been pushed to the back of the mind to be all but forgotten. In all fairness though, none could be blamed for forgetting and though it was important, at the time, survival and picking up the pieces for a shattered universe was by far, the biggest priority. But all was not lost, all was not forgotten for there was one, a good person of faith and belief, a vessel to twenty native medicine men and women who remembered the dark foreboding of Crucifix's words before he died. She remembered the threat to G Siphon and though her heart dearly did not want it to be true, she knew that for G to truly understand the strength of her love and hope, that she had to learn and understand hate and despair.
Oda had pleaded with the powers and spirits that be to change such a fate for G Siphon but despite her heart felt words, she was informed that there were events and reasons beyond her comprehension taking place within the universe, that a path started nearly a billion years ago would change all that the universe was and would become. They also informed Oda that a treachery, a deception perpetrated along that path needed to be dealt with accordingly, therefore G had to leave the path of light to walk the road of darkness and shadow. Oda, though her heart hurt deeply for what was to happen to G, she also believed, deep within her heart, that the young woman would find her way back. After all, when all else failed, hope would always be there and she believed in G Siphon.
