The Ranch History Empty The Ranch History

Post  Blackstar Wed Oct 27, 2010 1:46 pm

Welcome to the Ranch also known as Three Feathers Farm is located twenty two and a half miles from the outskirts of U.S. Reflex Mega City! This property was purchased by John Daganogeda and his wife, Leena almost seventy five years ago, not long after the devastation of both Detroit and Windsor. As the new Reflex Mega City was built upon the ashes of both former cites, so did the ranch grow from a small idea to a thriving horse farm. Here, John and Leena started with a small ranch house, a refurbished barn and five hundred acres of prime land replete with some forest, small lake and cave with natural tunnels beneath. With but an idea of the future and four quarter horses, they set out to become known as the premiere breeders of quality domestic, foreign and exotic horses.

As with all things, ideas do change and so did the idea of the Ranch as John and Leena narrowed their perspective on things, deciding to deal strictly with horses for riding and show, with an emphasis on riding. Thirty years later, with much work and effort they succeeded in their goals now owning twenty eight horses spread out across several breeds. Though they had not achieved complete success within the foreign market, they were known and sales for their Andalusians, Arabians and the Russian Dons, of which Russian buyers paid handsomely for, were few but very lucrative.

Domestic is their big haul as Three Feathers Farm deals with the Morgan, Appaloosa, Quarter, Paint and Pinto breed of horses, their quality breeding practices and high standards netting top dollar for excellent quality horses. Having an outstanding record, John and Leena were known throughout North America and the list for their quality animals was long and more often than not, prospective customers would travel thousands of miles to bring their mares for the, "personal touch," the owners would then stay a week either on the Ranch or in Reflex Mega City, in the hopes of a successful breeding. If that week failed to produce any results, rather than having the owners come back again, special arrangements were made to ship a healthy offering from said stud for artificial insemination. It was this attitude of honesty and fairness which was respected by those who knew John and Leena and kept the customer list long.

John Daganogeda is Cherokee, Leena is Iroquois and together they turned a dream into reality but raising horses was not the only thing which the two of them were involved with. With the destruction of both Detroit and Windsor, serious questions were raised by many and concern for the future was predominant over the events which had brought death and destruction to both cities. An insidious evil in the name of Baron Shadow had risen unnoticed and unchecked, his rise to power quick and ruthless suddenly striking from the shadows of darkness, descending with the wrath of violence upon two unsuspecting cities. Too little, too late did the heroes realize the dire seriousness of Baron Shadow's purpose. Too late did they react and when the battle finally ended two days later, both Detroit and Windsor had been leveled, the death toll rising into the tens of thousands of citizens and dozens of heroes. By the time the carnage and chaos had ended, the smoke of destruction and the specter of death mixed with the blood of the innocent lay heavy upon the city as it did within the hearts of those who fought and bore witness to the utterly brutal and senseless violence. It was small recompense that Baron Shadow's body was found, broken and lifeless amidst the skeletal remains of a building. The price had been to high, something had to be done to prevent such a thing in the future.

As groups and organizations around the world pondered, thought planned and conceived of ideas to defend and protect against such an atrocity in the future, the Native North Americans decided that it was time to step up to aid the very world they believe in and wish to protect. Council chiefs from across the United States and Canada gathered and met with the Six Nations of the Grand River council, near Brantford, Ontario, in a week long symposium to discuss the devastating loss of life and destruction of Windsor and Detroit. The purpose of this discussion was to decide if they should step forward and take an active part in finding possible ways to defend against such a tragedy again, irregardless of race, creed, culture or beliefs, for if anything, the devastating attack perpetrated by Baron Shadow struck at the human race as a whole.

Over two weeks of talking, disagreeing, disputing and discussing went on until eventually an idea which all could be satisfied with was finally agreed upon. From their own ranks, they would cull a handful of heroes to deal with situations around the world, to aid and support other groups when needed, to be on call whenever strife or disaster struck. They knew this would take a few months as, unlike non native races, they had nowhere near the number of meta beings to choose from. Of this task force, it was decided, due to his connections and the vast amount of people he knew around the world, John Daganogeda would head this native task force and fortunately, he accepted. Six years after the destruction of the twin border cities, the Spirit Warriors were born, a handful of meta beings to serve and protect the citizens of this world and beyond.

Out of this was also created the council of Native, Domestic, Foreign and Alien Affairs of which their purpose was to monitor the world and beyond and then direct the Spirit Warriors where they were needed. Over the next couple of years, the Spirit Warriors functioned and operated with great efficiency becoming popular not only amongst their own people but by the people of the world. So much so that it garnered the attention of the U.S. and Canadian governments who approached the council to arrange what they called, "A co-operative enterprise." Though this chaffed against the council and what they believed they could not escape the fact that money was needed to maintain a diligent observation of things. With a few days of deliberation within the council, a discussion with the government representatives, they accepted the offer but through it all, the council managed to maintain a level of autonomy for their group. With their acceptance, came a massive influx of needed money, nearly three hundred and fifty million dollars to which the council used to improve the lives of their own people and to build a much needed, hi tech base from which to monitor the world.

Though John disagreed with what was to happen with the Ranch, he understood his home offered the perfect place and opportunity for the Spirit Warriors to operate from, under the guise of hired ranch hands of course. It was also his connections around the world which made him and his wife the perfect operatives and though many would wonder how, it was purely a matter of positioning. The Ranch may deal mostly with regular clientele but it was the part of their clientele which were wealthy politicians, diplomats, entrepreneurs, statesmen and business people both domestic and foreign which gave John and his wife eyes and ears to situations around the world.

Six months later, two hundred meters beneath the farm, a high tech base went into operation. Only those upon the Ranch had been aware of the construction which was easily explained away by various means; new septic systems, soil sampling and testing, expansion of facilities were but a few of said reasons. The power to operate such a base was hidden at the far northern end of the property hidden cleverly within a small complex of caves replete with a fast moving stream from which the generator derived its power. The technicians had wanted to place something with a bit more output, but John had drawn the line at keeping things in harmony with nature.

For the next thirty five years the Spirit Warriors fought at home, across the world as well as being involved in a few off world encounters; one was with the Dimensional Enforcement Agency to deal with an organization of time and dimension hopping bandits and an alien group known as the Praetor Guardians. With the Spirit Warriors assistance, a bloody civil war was quelled, one that could have spread to dozens of surrounding systems. The Spirit Warriors popularity grew in leaps and bounds along with revenues from the sales of action figures, video games and other meta being based marketing products based upon the Spirit Warriors. Over the years, new metas came while others left, some to replace those who died, but with all good things, fate, destiny or whatever one may wish to call it, comes an end.

It first began with the sudden death of both John and Leena in a mysterious car accident followed by well orchestrated attacks and set ups perpetrated by various criminal organizations to cast doubts upon the Spirit Warriors. In a matter of three years, despite the best efforts of the Warriors and the the Council, the damage done, not to mention the deaths of a number of Spirit Warriors, was too great to overcome. Popular opinion saw the Warriors as a threat, a danger to the people of the world and with voters applying pressure to both North American governments, the Council of Native, Domestic and Alien Affairs along with the Spirit Warriors was disbanded. For those who knew them and those who believed in them, this was a devastating blow which was made even more so when both governments had declared that the Spirit Warriors had become a rogue group a few years ago. The evidence, the facts, the proof stacked against them was devastating and well put together all perpetrated by a group, later to be learned, known as the, Blood Knights

Thirty eight years from when it started, the Spirit Warriors gone, the Council shut down as well as the base, things upon the Ranch would never be the same. What the Blood Knights had planned, ended when the truth was uncovered which explained, to some extent, the deception to remove the Spirit Warriors and the movement to initiate what would have been known as the "Meta Enforcement Act." Thankfully, with the uncovering of the truth, the Act was defeated in congress but only by a narrow margin. The Blood Knights play to have all meta beings registered failed but their involvement was never discovered, though a number of senators, congress and business people paid the price for their involvement; sacrifices willingly made to further the view and philosophies of the Blood Knights.
