The Canadian Rockies comprise the Canadian segment of the North American Rocky Mountains range. They are the eastern part of the Canadian Cordillera, extending from the Interior Plains of Alberta to the Rocky Mountain Trench of British Columbia. The southern end borders Idaho and Montana of the USA, but for this specific area we need not worry about that border. The northern end is at the Liard River in northern British Columbia.
The Canadian Rockies are home to all sorts of creatures, natural and unnatural. An inhuman menace is loose in the region in the form of Akhlut set free at the bidding of Atshen. For reasons which are still unknown. Akhlut is a crafty evil spirit that takes the form of both an Orca and a Wolf. The only way to spot it is to find wolf tracks that lead from the land to the sea. Any wolfs said going towards or in to the ocean are considered evil. But these are not the only terrors in the region.
Multiple ADDER Nests have been spotted in the area. Throughout all the regions in included in the Canadian Rockies, they’ve been building up small armies for years, the exact number a mystery. The speculation is they know that this area is a hot bed for spiritual energy and they’re trying to find a way to improve their super soldiers.
Also Hidden throughout various parts of the rockies are a group known as the Neo-Patriots. The Neo-Patriots are a paramilitary group that uses terrorist tactics to sever all of Canada’s ties to the British royal crown. This group has not been in operation for almost as long as ADDER but they have been around for a few years. They are known to use both technology and magic. Some soldiers are even linked mentally due to evil magics that they have utilized. Their main base of operations is a rundown film studio on the Albert side of the Rockies.
Even further there is another group that disguises their purpose as one of research, meanwhile they have much more nefarious deeds in mind, thought they remain secret. They go by the name RADIENT. Research And Development International Enterprises. They are as shady as shady organizations go. No one knows where they get their funding or how they get their supplies. Those that have looked in to it have disappeared forever.
Relatively new to the region are the interstellar enforcers known as The D.E.A. the Dimensional Enforcement Agency. Their job is to uphold the laws of interdimensional travel. They have offices in all major cities and areas throughout the world and with The Rockies being a hotbed for all sorts of interdimensional acivities, it’s only natural that they have a branch observing this area. Various types of beings find themselves in the employ of The D.E.A. including metahumans from this world and others.
Last but certainly not least, the supernatural entities that happen to call the Canadian Rockies home. They are everywhere and legion in the Canadian Spiritual Hotbed. Whether it is just your average Hellhound or a Grand Ice Wizard Demon or an evil frozen zombie, ancient evils lurk where devious organizations and ambitious aliens fear to go.
