Eleanor was a happily married and devoted wife to Ambrose, although he himself was in fact mostly married to his work.

It was at this time in their early years together, that Ambrose's work wasn't so diabolical though it did have some slight sinister undertones.

At the age of 20 she had a miscarriage and lost her child, this event both affected Ambrose and Eleanor however they were able in time to move on.

Eleanor prior to the miscarriage was quite the socialite moving around in high society and socialising with various people about class some of whom who were fairly prominent.

Later after the miscarriage she not only continued to focus on her social skills and social life but turned to that of gambling.

It is believed she may have at one-point gambled with the wrong person and acquiring some sort of debt which she was unable to pay, it this certainly have an impact on future events with her life.

It was also after this particular incident that Ambrose endeavoured to spend more time with his wife, which he certainly did so on various occasions; however things came to a head when Eleanor became terminally ill.

Eleanor was in fact poisoned; the poison was quite virulent yet slow acting, increasing in accordance within her body over time.

Ambrose frantically research and endeavoured to find what it was that afflicted Eleanor and to find a cure.

Ambrose was fractionally successful in his endeavours however he had to build a machine to administer the cure he had created to save Eleanor.

However this machine was mysteriously sabotaged which resulted in an explosion which destroyed Ambrose's laboratory and seemingly Eleanor as a result.

Eleanor was in fact not killed outright; she was taken secretly away by mysterious saboteur and was soon turned into a fully fledged vampire.

Ambrose firmly believes his wife Eleanor and that the resulting explosion of the machine which he believed killed his wife was his fault or so he believes.

He personally blames himself, believing it was a miscalculation or error on his part which killed Eleanor.

This may have been the catalyst that set Ambrose off and down to a malevolent level with his work.

Eleanor after becoming a vampire changed her name to Cassandra and embraced her new life; she after having left Britain made her way to America following Ambrose who had earlier chosen to do the same thing.

She has herself arrived in reflex city and has subsequently been approached by a member of the Blood Knights organisation.
