    Psychoanalysis and evaluation of Doctor Ambrose Carrington.

    Ambrose Carrington as a highly intelligent individual and a keen Academic, he is a focused Alchemist and Physician, dabbling in Technology Based Science.

    His main fields of expertise however are in:

    Alchemy

    Alchemy has subsumed both chemistry and pharmacology.

    Ambrose is skilled in the background of this field regarding chemical science and philosophy.

    He has the knowledge necessary to equip an Alchemical laboratory, distil Alchemical compounds using known formulae, and generate and test new Alchemical formulae.

    As a result of this he is also knowledgeable about the uses and integrations of drugs.

    He is familiar with the various families of chemicals, naturally occurring and synthetic, and their efficacy for the treatment of disease or the corruption of health.

    It has also been known that he is quite certain of the doses at which drugs may be used to good effect at the doses at which compounds are poisonous.

    Furthermore he is quite able to identify unknown drugs based on their characteristics, some maybe identifiable for example by colour, smell or taste, while positive identification of others may require the use of specialised equipment.

    Galvanics

    Galvanics is the science of electricity and its applications.

    Ambrose Carrington himself has been noted as being able to design, construct repair and disassemble galvanic devices, working from the basic principles of galvanic construction.

    Even in the absence of proper equipment, he is capable of building or making modifications to a galvanic device and jury rigging repairs or improvements.

    It certainly on occasion has been noted that Ambrose has at required times needed to make use of or create complex galvanic weaponry.

    Medicine

    Doctor Ambrose Carrington has been profoundly noted by his peers in his field as being able to repair wounds and perform operations reasonably well on the human body. He is at least conversant with the proper structure and functioning of the body and thus able to diagnose wounds and openness and perform the necessary operations to restore the body to health.

    He has also been able to note and observe the physiological responses of individuals on occasion and assess their condition even without the opportunity for complete physical examination.

    As a physician he has been able to describe sinister causes the symptoms of which the sufferer himself was barely aware.

    Sometimes it has also been noted if he has been given time to examine a particular wound he should be able to roughly determine the nature and severity of the injury and to prescribe the relevant treatment.


    As for what manner of man Dr Carrington seems to be, I have to say he certainly has a profound interest in scientific observation, especially in matters of anatomy.

    He is most certainly a keen student of the human form and it has been mentioned by his peers that he can at times be transfixed by the human body in any state of repair for hours.

    Ambrose before he made the decision to become a doctor was inspired by his father to become an industrialist; it has been said that he was indeed quite the aspiring industrialist, as those who knew him said he was certainly quite successful and conducted himself in a professional manner whilst dealing with a substantial number of clients.

    Privately Ambrose, before he came into trouble owned a good-sized home that was attended to by a maid, valet and driver; He was certainly well off by most standards.

    As for the more personal abilities exhibited by Ambrose he has shown particular aptitude for his skill in firearms, but as for the man’s social qualities however at the time of the height of his career and popularity before he was incarcerated, during the time when he used to run a small operation, which consisted of a small shop named Carrington's pharmacy; in a relatively good neighbourhood.

    At the time he presently had two employees who worked for him but it was they who reported him to the authorities on discovery of Ambrose’s unhealthy interest in reanimation.

    Besides I can certainly imagine he possesses a few secrets, for example he clames to come from another dimention.

    He also is a member of a fairly exclusive club which he still holds and attains to the gentlemen’s club known as The Green Ginger Club.

    Furthermore he certainly has quite impeccable credentials but I would certainly say from my opinion they would be of great use when opening doors in particular areas of society.

    How this will help him with his subsequent criminal record I do not know.

    A particular note of importance also is that prior to being incarcerated at this penitentiary Ambrose Carrington, escaped from three previous places of incarceration; Reflex City State, Redworth Asylum and The Matterhime Facilty.

    Lastly because of his earlier work in industry it has been noted that he was able to put away quite a substantial amount of savings that I certainly imagine will benefit him once he is released; after of course he has finished his term of sentence and has passed and completed his psycho evaluation.

    Equipment

    Sword cane and Stun Cane

    Syringe gun

    The Syringe gun fires a heavy duty steel syringe, that delivers drugs or Alchemical solutions into a target’s bloodstream.

    The gun was designed to deliver massive doses of drugs from a safe distance.

    The heavy steel projectiles are incredibly dangerous to human targets since the syringes hit with tremendous force and can rupture organs or break bones.

    Generally the weapon is used to bring down very large creatures and unusually large specimens.

    Regorger

    The Regorger is a weapon of absurd cruelty and is sometimes known as sometimes better known as the breath taker or tormentor.

    The device was designed to incapacitate a target without causing physical harm.

    In early field trials the device seemed effective beyond wildest expectations.

    The emanations projected by the device flawlessly induced paralytic fear in the test subjects.

    It was however only when a small segment of the subjects slipped into permanent catatonia did certain individuals realise the error in their calculations.

    The Regorger proved to be destabilising to the human mind, despite certain scientist’s adamant objections financial backers were delighted by the results even after the device caused cardiac arrest in the number of subjects during the weapons second round of trials.

    The distinctive pistol is squat, ugly, bulky and uncomfortable to handle.

    The Regorger unleashes crippling bioelectrical jolts which overload the mind with catastrophic terror.

    Most humans simply fainted dead away, but some suffer seizure responses or worse.

    A small number suffer acute heart failure.

    Those surviving the initial effects of the Regorger, may suffer permanent brain damage or severe psychological trauma.

    Even those that seem to pull through the harrowing ordeal unscathed often later develop acute mental disorders.

    Any blows to the weapon will misalign its fragile aiming components.

    Grenade, electro-pulse

    The electoral polls bring aid is a rechargeable weapon sometimes employed for crowd control.

    As its name suggests instead of detonating like an ordinary grenade, the device generates a powerful electrical pulse that shocks anyone within 2 metres.

    The pulse is accompanied by a untraceable electrical crackle and the smell of ozone.

    Death Ray

    The death ray is unquestionably the pinnacle of modern galvanic weaponry.

    The powerful teleforce particle exciter destabilises matter, causing catastrophic high-energy failure of a structure at the molecular level.

    The weapon is capable of blowing craters on the earth, reducing the target and everything within 5 metres of him to fine ash.

    The weapon is fuelled by an extremely powerful capacitor.

    Should the weapon be completely discharged, it may also be recharged by the application of an integral hand crank.

    The operator simply turns the crankier rapid motion to recharge the battery until they can be fired once more.

    The weapon itself is highly illegal and extremely dangerous.

    Any blows to the weapon will misalign its fragile aiming components.

    Lightning gun

    The lightning gun is a sophisticated apparatus that causes a target to be struck by artificially generated lightning.

    The weapon generates an ionic corridor leading to a target, resulting in a lightning discharge.

    Often the only warning a target receives is a millisecond long static tingle and the faint smell of ozone.

    Then he is ripped apart by the force of the blast.

    The effect of the weapons discharge is spectacular as may be expected from a lightning strike at close range- the initial blinding discharge is followed by a number of smaller recent rides along the ion channel, resulting in a fascinating display parking lights and extraordinary sonic effect.

    The report of the lightning gun can often be heard for over a mile.

    The weapon is fully capable of obliterating multiple targets with a single blast.

    Those that are not immediately destroyed or thrown, burning, to the ground.

    The weapon utilises delicate components that are shielded from harm by a retractable Shell when it is not in operation.

    The weapon is fuelled by an extremely powerful capacitor.

    Special equipment

    Alchemical lab (complete)

    A complete alchemical lab represents a significant investment in one’s craft.

    Though alchemical supplies are widely available, assembling a working lab still takes time and planning.

    Permits may need to be acquired gas lines installed, tools ordered eccentric.
    Provided the funds are available, a lab can be put together in as little as a month.

    Alchemical labs contain a staggering number of devices that no one outside the field could ever hope to identify, including a vast array of glassware, chemical compounds, receptacles of salt and sand, ovens and autoclaves, charts, implements of iron and stone, precious metals, scales and industrial crucibles, metallurgical tools, scorifiers, bone-ash, cuples, alembics, aludels, cucurbits, adopters, receivers and other chemical apparatuses of ceramic, glass and steel.

    Alchemical lab(travelling)

    A wonder of the modern age, a travelling alchemical lab is a medical valise filled to capacity with the essential materials or the alchemist’s craft.

    The kit contains everything required to work in the field including a multitude of viles, Tesla burners, a small set of scales, tools, crucibles and assorted receptacles.

    Travelling labs are extremely fragile and care must be taken that their delicate contents are not shadowed or miss calibrated.

    Anatomical preservation system

    The preservation system is an array of tanks, structural reinforcements, and directional tubing intended to preserve the integrity of anatomical specimens prior to transplant.

    Optimal temperatures are maintained within the system, and alchemical solutions are conducted through that is used to maintain a state of stasis, preserving the living tissue perfectly without subjecting themselves to the damaging potentials of freezing.

    A specimen contained in the preservation system may be considered to maintain its original condition rubbed in six months, assuming the system’s operation is not interrupted.

    The operational costs of the system reflect necessary maintenance and filtration and replacement alchemical solutions.

    A system of this sort is absolutely necessary for the work of galvanic reanimation.

    Artificial womb, Anathema-Grade

    The Anathema grade artificial womb represents a milestone in the field of ectogensis.

    The device is the first of its kind capable of gestating a human foetus, artificially or otherwise, to full term.

    The womb itself is a hermetically sealed apparatus of glass and steel filled with an artificial amniotic fluid is maintained at body temperature.

    Embryonic umbilical cords are attached to the external pumps that regulate nutrient intake and waste outflow.

    Development of the foetus may be altered or exhilarated with the introduction of our chemical solutions for the umbilical cord. In fact it’s common practice to reduce the period of artificial gestation by up to 6 months through this compromise is the quality of the finished product.

    The actual sequence of ectogensis is exceedingly intricate and requires a great deal of careful maintenance by the attending technician.

    If the incubation process is not probably monitored, the Anathema may die before becoming viable or errors in ontogeny may accumulate, producing a monstrous creation.

    The creation of life outside sanction academic research is highly illegal.
    However despite rigorous attempts to enforce this, there remains a constant demand for goods of artificial labour.

    As long as there are wealthy patrons who are unable to conceive their own children and prepared to pay for the best science money can buy, there will remain a black market in artificial infants.

    Artificial womb, Homunculus-Grade

    Though the Homunculus-Grade artificial womb is a great deal simpler than the Anathema grade womb, it is still a marvel of its time.

    While the device cannot carry true human life to term, it is capable of gestating less advanced organisms.

    Homunculus-Grade wombs are a staple of genetic research.

    Reanimation Lab (complete)

    The assembly and maintenance of a complete functioning Bio-galvanic lab represents a significant investment.

    Most legal laboratories of this type are academic or industrial research facilities devoted to the development of technology for biomechanical interface –prosthetics, Interface Jar technology production of post cadaverous automata are the most common activities conducted in these legitimate facilities.

    Laboratorys of this type is necessary for research into galvanic reanimation.

    If the goals of the research include construction and the animation of a full human body, the needs of the laboratory in terms of woodland and supplies will be intensive.

    The anatomical preservation sytems will need to be capable of supporting a complete body and ancillary parts, including the delicate neural tissues, over the entire course of construction.

    The laboratory will require considerable power: in addition to the power required by the support apparatuses, a massive array of capacitors will be needed to generate the galvanic impulse is necessary for reanimation of tissues.

    Any laboratory of this sort will include at least a basic anatomical preservation apparatus, though complex and correspondingly expensive apparatus of this type are common.

    Some alchemical equipment is necessary for the formation and modification of basic serums.

    Interface Jar

    The interface Jar is a device for the preservation of a living human brain.

    The simplest jars are little more than temporary life-support systems fully isolated brain, allowing nutrients and oxygen to reach the delicate tissues by providing no sensory input or output for the brain.

    These trials will suffice to transfer a brain between hosts or even to provide a short-term storage for a few days or weeks, but long-term residence in sensory deprivation of these trials will do irreparable damage to the processing and response capabilities of the brain.

    More complexity of ices are intended for longer use, dividing sensory input and output for a least a basic time and usually incorporating some sort of locomotive capacity under the control of the stored brain.

    The more sophisticated provided analogues of all five senses through a variety of attachments to the jar. A brain may be stored under these conditions for years before detrimental effects of the jar begin to manifest.

    Afflictions that affect my character:

    He can at times be transfixed by the human body in any state of repair for hours.

    Melancholy

    The character suffers from protracted bouts of depression and may appear sullen and morerose for days or weeks at a time.

    In the past, the character has been driven to desperate acts by loneliness or failed love affairs.

    Melancholy may be further intensified through alcohol or drug addiction.

    In particular perhaps when ever left alone or confronted with failure.

    Night terrors

    Suffers from a sleep disorder, nightly, and spontaneously awakes with panicked screams.

    During a typical episode the character will writhe in bed, his face a fear marred mask and his eyes dilate, sweating profusely, and tormented by a baseless agitation.

    During such an attack, the character is unresponsive to attempt to confront him and until confusion and agitations subside.

    The character may then began feeling overwhelming sense of dread and fragmentary dream images, but rarely a vivid and complete dream sequence.

    Morning amnesia of entire episode is the rule, much to the befuddlement of witnesses especially, those kept awake and the character simply cannot not recall the occurrence of the event.
