Africa is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, both the Suez Canal, and the Red Sea along the Sinai Peninsula to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Africa is widely accepted within the scientific community as the birthplace of the human race. Also according to the same scientific community, apes are the missing link in human creation. As evidenced by the discovery of the earliest hominids and their ancestors.
From deep green jungles to dry deserted deserts, African is both beautiful and dangerous. You can find anything from Lions, to king cobras and even Meta beings. Africa used to be a friendly country, but these days, is a hot bed of violence, aggression, violent leaders and hate filled warlords. In some way, this great continent is still friendly but with various world organizations both secret and open using Africa as a testing ground for a variety of commercial, agricultural, economic and military purposes, friendly may be a thing of the past.
The United Nations was active as a relief force on that great continent, sending in supplies on a daily basis in an effort to relieve what suffering they could. It has been two years since a UN convoy made a trip within the Dark Continent, pulling out because the danger for their convoys and people had become too great, loss of equipment, supplies and human life rising far above what the UN was willing to suffer. Now, only private organizations move through this continent but not without a strong mercenary presence or a few meta humans. Even then, the situation could get dicey, but overall, the losses suffered by private organizations were far less than what the UN had been suffering.
In this realm, Africa had never recovered from the early occupation of European nations, nor did the city of Johnnesberg surviving only a few years before a night of terror and violence saw it shattered and burnt to the ground. It has remained primarily a nation of pure African people though, under certain circumstances, such as the tourist industry, they tolerate white people upon their soil. Its not to say that they are racist but have more of a hatred to the white nations who saw and used them for nothing more than slavery. They wanted their nation for themselves and have done just that.
It is hard to describe the African nation and its infrastructure as each province operates in different ways, means and purposes but they do have an infrastructure. They do have an economy though it be poor to adequate and they do have a military, a rather large one but with each state having their own standing army, there is very little unity within the Africa. Many analysts of various fields do believe that if Africa can find a common ground as a nation, unite all their provinces into one union, that Africa could become a very powerful and influential nation in the world. Unfortunately, with the various warlords, tyrants and organizations vying for power, creating a power vacuum within the country, many of those analysts believe that it will be many years, even decades longer before they can move forward as a unified nation.
Nearly six years ago, hope was born in blood in what is now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2010, after sixteen years of violent, tyrannical rule by a leader known only as the Dark Tyrant, the people had reached their limit. The people rose up against this tyrant and with a couple of people who could lead such an uprising, the revolution lasted for a few months. Unfortunately, without an actual person, one who could focus the purpose of the people, rally them behind a cause, the revolution began to weaken. When it appeared the Dark Tyrant was near to quashing the revolution, hope arrived as first generation African American man returning to his roots.
